Assign Learner Security Levels

Ability LMS provides three Data Security Level fields that allow designated learners to view the training records of other learners. For example, a manager might need access to training records for all learners who work in the refinery. In the following example, Learner A is allowed to view Learner B's training records.

Step 1: Update the security privileges for Learner A

  1. Select the Learner Detail screen for Learner A.

  2. In the View box, click Learner Security.

  3. Enter values in one or more of the Learner Data Security Level boxes.

  4. If this learner should be able to view his own training record, enter the values from the previous step in the Data Security Level box(es).

  5. Click Save.

Note You can use wildcard matching by entering the first one or more characters of the value. For example, entering "ref" would match any words beginning with "ref," including "refinery."

 

 

Step 2: Update the Functional Security for Learner A

Learner A's learner record should still be open.

  1. In the View box, click Learner Functional Security.

  2. Select the check box for Supervisor.

  3. Click Save.

 

Step 3: Update the Learner Security screen for Learner B.

  1. Select the Learner Detail screen for Learner B.

  2. In the View box, click Learner Security.

  3. In the Data Security Level boxes, type the values entered in the Learner Data Security Level fields on Learner A's Security screen.

  4. Click Save.
